We have a thriving music department which allows
many opportunities for the children to develop their talents outside
their normal lessons. Instrumental lessons on offer from our peripatetic
group of music teachers include brass, woodwind, string, percussion
and voice. The choir practises weekly.
Music plays a large part in many of our major
events through the year. For many, the festive season really begins
with our ‘Celebration of Christmas’ at our local Parish
Church. This is followed in the spring term by our production which
involves all of the children, particularly featuring members of
Year 6.
Notable
productions include Frankie & Me and Here comes the Circus.
In July, the successes of the children are celebrated at our annual
Prize Evening which affords yet another opportunity
for
the artistic talents of the children to be enjoyed.
During one weekend in May, the school hosts
the Janet Beaumont Festival, which gives everyone the opportunity
to compete in numerous classes of speech, drama and music.
